The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster Makes A 27,000 Ton Warship Look Harmless
If you need to organise the public debut of a car as extreme as the Veneno Roadster, you need a suitably bombastic way to do it, right? That's clearly what the PR people at Lamborghini thought, and their answer was to ship it over to Abu Dhabi on a 27,000 ton aircraft carrier...
When you see the launch in these pictures, it actually makes a lot of sense. Given how festooned the Veneno Roadster is in aerodynamic wings and appendages, it looks right at home parked on a runway next to Harrier jump-jets.
The Italian Navy's Cavour aircraft carrier is currently docked in the UAE to promote goods made in Italy, as part of a wider trade tour across the Middle East and Africa.
Lamborghini will be selling just nine Veneno Roadsters, though that's more than the coupe version, of which only three will ever be sold. Each Aventador-based Veneno Roadster costs a cool £2.8 million, and comes packing a 740bhp 6.5-litre V12.
