Even though I’m generally a moody cynic, every so often I can’t help but doff my metaphorical cap to a good marketing exercise. And the latest hat doffing is aimed at this effort from Honda, dubbed as the ‘King of the Hell roadshow’.

This ‘roadshow’ consists of a simulator, where punters can take on the Nurburgring and take aim at the 7min 50.63sec lap time laid down by a pre-production Civic Type R earlier in the year. The incentive? The person who can get closest to the time will win themselves a year with Honda’s new 306bhp hot hatch.

Fancy a go? The road show starts at Westfield Shopping centre in Shepherds Bush on 17 July for three days, and will stop at 17 other locations which can be seen here.
