Leaked: The 592bhp 30th Anniversary BMW M5 That Turns The Excess Up To 11
When we had the F10 BMW M5 (with Competition Package) in the CT office, we found its 575bhp to be too much for UK roads, especially given the sheer size of the car. With that in mind, we're surprised to see this leaked information that BMW feels the need to inject even more power into a special-edition that celebrates 30 years of the M5.
Fortunately, it's not that much more powerful than a Competition Package F10 M5, with the car's 4.4-litre V8 boosted to 592bhp and 516lb/ft, which might see a very small drop in the 4.3 second 0-62mph time. The production run will be limited to 300, if the picture of the dashboard-mounted '1/300' badge below is anything to go by.
30th anniversary badging can also be found on the seats, side gills and kick plates. The car in the top image doesn't entirely match the eventual production model, which will be finished in Frozen Dark Silver Metallic, with jet black 20-inch wheels.
We'll bring you official confirmation as soon as it arrives.
