This Lego Set Could Be The Perfect Way To Get Over The 'Death' Of Top Gear

Someone has submitted this Top Gear set recreation to the 'Lego Ideas' website. It'll probably never happen, but it looks brilliant!
This Lego Set Could Be The Perfect Way To Get Over The 'Death' Of Top Gear

Amid new rumours of Jeremy, James and Richard heading off to Netflix to present something called ‘House of Cars’ (geddit?) and a fresh batch of presenters apparently taking their place on the BBC show, Top Gear as we knew it is pretty much dead and buried. However, if you need something to distract you for long enough to make the tears stop, there is an answer. And that answer is Lego.

If you’ve not seen it before, there’s a website called Lego Ideas. People submit ideas for new Lego products, and if one gets over 10,000 votes of support, the bosses at the Danish firm will consider making it a reality. One idea on the site is this recreation of the Top Gear set, complete with figures of Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig, a two-man film crew, Power Lap board, the famous battered Hilux and a V8 coffee table.

The set has just 197 supporters, but there are 360 days to go, leaving plenty of time to hit the magic 10,000 mark - especially if you guys give it a helping hand. We can see all sorts of licensing issues which would stop this from ever happening - particularly with the trio departing the BBC-owned brand - but you never know. Alternatively, with a little creativity, you could always recreate this set yourself…
