The Lexus UX Is Coming, And Its Grille Game Is Strong

Ladies and gents, say hello to the new UX compact crossover - revealed today via the single image above and the teaser video below.

Even for a Lexus, it has quite a striking grille design, doesn’t it? Presumably its mouth has been made that big for all the BMW X1 and Audi Q3 sales the car wants to gobble up.

From the sounds of it it’ll be the least expensive car in the Lexus range when it launches, becoming what the brand is dubbing a “gateway model.” Details are still thin on the ground at this point, but the Toyota luxury division has said that it’ll be built on “an all-new platform” which will give the car “exceptional body rigidity and a low center of gravity for exceptional handling.”

We’re also promised a “highly focused driver’s cockpit” and a “wide and inviting passenger space.”

So far, so vague, but we don’t have long to wait until the car’s full reveal: that’ll be happening at the Geneva Motor Show on 6 March.

That is one ugly looking SUV. Why can’t Lexus make good looking cars like the ISF again?

Being Canadian, the market is FLOODED with SUVs and crossovers but what we see consistently is that the RX and NX are one of the boldest in the market! The grill, attention to detail, and luxury look makes anyone look like someone “a step above” from the others. I personally really really like Lexus for going the brave route - also have you EVEN sat inside the new Lexus LS? It was comfier than sitting on a marshmallow!

No, it won’t be exciting to drive, and yeah it will be a bit bland inside, but I really like the design. Many can at least agree that it isn’t BORING. “Pretty” is something else entirely. It’s definitely not boring, though.
