London's Newest Skyscraper Hates Jaguars So Much, It's Actually Melted An XJ
If you live or work in London, we have some very important motoring advice for you today: do not park your car in front of this evil skyscraper. Reason? Martin Lindsay did just that with his Jaguar XJ, only to return a couple of hours later to find that his £60k saloon had been melted by sun reflections from the partially-constructed building.
Land Securities and Canary Wharf Group, developers of the odd-looking building - nicknamed the 'Walkie Talkie' - stated that: “The phenomenon is caused by the current elevation of the sun in the sky. It currently lasts for approximately two hours per day, with initial modeling suggesting that it will be present for approximately two to three weeks."
Until a permanent solution to the windows of death is found, the affected parking bays will be suspended. The developers have at least offered to pay to fix the damage to Mr Lindsay's car, said to be around £1000. Ouch.
