Pastor Maldonado isn't helping his crashy reputation. The Venezuelan driver had a good chance of securing a strong grid position for the Spanish Grand Prix but he found the wall yet again.

He lost control of his Lotus E22 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya just 90 seconds into the first qualifying session, spinning across the track at turn three before colliding with the barrier. Meanwhile his team-mate Romain Grosjean made it through to the top 10 shoot-out and will line up on tomorrow's grid in fifth place, behind Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas.
