Manhart's 800bhp Lamborghini Urus Is The Exact Opposite Of Subtle
A combination of bold, angular styling, the option of gigantic 23-inch wheels and a 671bhp output make the Lamborghini Urus just about the least subtle car on sale today. And yet for some, it just won’t be conspicuous enough.
This is where the aftermarket rears its head. In this case, it’s German tuner Manhart that has entered the fold by announcing an upgrade programme for Lamborghini’s vast, opinion-splitting SUV.
Naturally, it’s the figures from the re-jigged 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that grab us first. You’re looking at 790bhp (or 812PS), making this 2.2-tonne hulk more powerful than Lamborghini’s most powerful car, the Aventador SVJ. Torque has been bumped up too, increasing by 97lb ft to 723lb ft. Sufficient.
The uplift in power and twist is made possible thanks to a pair of larger turbochargers, a new exhaust system, and an ECU remap. There’s also the addition of a stronger eight-speed automatic gearbox to cope with all that internally-combusted rage.
There are, naturally, some visual changes too. Manhart has added 21-inch Y-spoke black wheels, carbonfibre wheel arch extensions, a massive new front splitter, some sizeable stripes, and a bunch of red accents. Including some inside the quad tailpipes. Yes, really…
