Mathematical Proof That Furious 7 Is The Fastest And Most Furious Movie Yet
If there’s one thing we can be sure of, it’s that Fast and Furious movies will be big on fast car chases and furious fight scenes. The guys at Bloomberg decided to analyse the nearly 14 hours of F&F footage to see how much time is spent driving quickly, and how often there’s violence on screen.
Interestingly, considering most people would say the movies aren’t really about cars anymore, Furious 7 has the highest amount of fast car action, with 49 minutes. It also has the most fighting, at 33 minutes. Fighting has gradually increased with each movie, after bottoming out with Tokyo Drift in 2006.
Despite the fact the movies have become more fighty, the language has become tamer, probably to increase the mainstream appeal and ensure the movie is accessible to as many people as possible (so the film-makers can make even more money).
Since its ubiquitous place in the first film, the use of nitrous oxide has declined steadily, gaining a brief resurgance following Tokyo Drift, but again dropping off to the point where it’s rarely used in Furious 7.
