Mercedes-AMG Project One Will Reportedly Have 1006bhp To Play With
As time goes on we’re getting a much clearer picture of what the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar will be like. We know it’ll have an F1-derived, 1.6-litre V6 hybrid powertrain, and we know its price tag will be comfortably in seven figure territory.
Mercedes itself has previously said the hybrid system will produce “more than 1000hp [987bhp]” combined, but now we know exactly how much more. 20hp - according to a report in Automobile Magazine - bringing the total to 1020hp, or 1006bhp.
So the answer is not much more, but hey, that’s still a monstrous output. And given that - despite all the bulky hybrid gubbins it’ll be carrying - it’s reported to weigh only 1300kg or so, it should be monstrously fast.
The car will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

A light-weight mercedes? What a time to be alive
I need to get to Frankfurt.
“1020hp, or 1006bhp.”
Wait, what is the difference between horsepower and brake horsepower?
Hint: “B” doesn’t stand for brake here…
It’s simply imperial vs metric reading.
1 hp (metric) = 735,49875 W
1 hp (UK) = 745,70 W
Now why they though their horses were more bad-ass than anyone else? If not, UK wouldn’t be UK, after all.
Mercedes AMG Project One will reportedly have a rubbish, unoriginal name
