A Mercedes CLA 'Star Wars Edition' Has Been Created For Some Reason

Live in Japan? Want to combine your love of Star Wars with a mediocre Mercedes saloon? Step right this way...
A Mercedes CLA 'Star Wars Edition' Has Been Created For Some Reason

The standard Mercedes CLA is a sorta OK saloon version of the A-Class, and isn’t a car we’re particularly keen to recommend. Funnily enough, festooning one with Star Wars-themed trinkets doesn’t change that view, but that’s exactly what Mercedes Japan has done. Welcome to the CLA 180 Star Wars Edition, a car we wish wasn’t real. But sadly, it is.

Based on the standard CLA 180 (yep, not even a half decent CLA), 120 of these Star Wars Editions will be made. 60 in Knight Black, and 60 in Calsite White - because Darth Vader and Stormtroopers, obviously.

A Mercedes CLA 'Star Wars Edition' Has Been Created For Some Reason

Changes include Star Wars puddle lights, Star Wars branded floor mats, and what seems to be a sunshade that makes it look a little like your CLA is actually the Millennium Falcon on the inside. Oh, and there’s also a little device that makes R2-D2-style noises. We really wish we were making this up.

We’re guessing you don’t want one, but just in case, we can report that it’ll set you back 5,040,000 yen, which is around £34,600.

Everyone’s too quick to judge don’t you know ‘She’ll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts, kid.’

Would’ve been better on the CLS instead.

Has nothing to do with puny A class.
How do you get that wrong?

Star Wars hasn’t been Star Wars for about 30 years, so we’re a little behind the times.
