Does anyone know how the Bose active suspension worked? Did it work in a similar way?

From what I know, Bose uses something with electromagnetism to stabilize the ride

It is incredible until few years down the road and these shocks start leaking and Mercedes dealer charge you $2000 just for one shock.

If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it.
As easy as that. The shock may cost 2000$, but the car is around 150000$ or more, and if you can afford that, 2000$ for a shock is nothing.

Citroens are pneumatic, this uses oil. But the system is the same.
PS: and citroen has been doing it for at least 40 years XD

From what im reading citroen has been using a similar idea since 1955. Not necessarily the same thing nor as advanced.

still wondering where this car stands in the market though.
at $165K it’s more expensive than an AMG GT at sticker.

Same idea here, I think this car has unfortunately lost its place in Mercedes’ line-up. I mean, who in their bright mind would have this over a convertible S class or over a convertible AMG GT?

It’s the Citroën Hydropneumatic suspension but the air is replaced by coil springs. Mercedes has been doing this under license from Citroën for decades.
