Seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher is continuing to recover from severe head injuries he sustained in a skiing accident in December 2013, however his former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo told reporters in Italy on Thursday that the latest update on his condition is “not good”.

Schumacher is still receiving intensive treatment at his house in Switzerland following the accident, which happened just over two years ago in the French Alps.

Di Montezemolo (pictured above with Jean Todt) said:

“I have news and unfortunately it is not good. Life is strange. He was a fantastic driver and only had one accident with Ferrari in 1999.”

Todt, president of the FIA, said in November he is “still fighting”. While di Montezemolo and Schumacher worked together for many years at Ferrari, it is difficult to judge the context of his comments and he refused to elaborate on them.

Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm is the only person responsible for giving official updates on Schumacher’s health, and she refused to comment on di Montezemolo’s quotes when contacted by various news outlets.

The latest statement from Kehm was in May 2015, saying he was “making progress”, but that people “must always keep the seriousness of his injuries in mind”.

let him go already! It’s not what you call life what he is in now and I’m pretty sure he won’t get the chance to live a happy life in any sense in the future.

He needs to die as a legend. No as a sick guy who can’t drive

And what were you expecting? Brain related injuries are nothing like other phisical injuries (amputations, sliced tendons, burns…), you just cant make it out by fighting hard, because its what makes you fight thats injured! Its obvious that his state is really bad since its been like 2 years from his accident and there hasnt been a single public appearence

That’s true. Formula One drivers almost never lose their lives, but when they do it’s to brain injuries. Look at Niki Lauda, he had such a terrible crash and sustained such huge injuries but he kept fighting and kept racing. They are some of the toughest men in the world, it seems the only way they can die is to lose the thing which gives them their fighting spirit. #KeepFightingMichael

People should shut the F up. If it’s the decision of Michaels family to stay silent then everyone else should respect that.

Don’t dream people, Mickael has been too long in coma to be a “normal people” in fact now i think he can’t speak, can move alone and do not have any memories.

And maybe we will never see him again, to keep good memories from him ;)
