This Might Actually Be The 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt

The long-rumoured Bullitt version of the current Mustang appears to have been spotted during filming
This Might Actually Be The 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt

The showdown between a green Ford Mustang GT Fastback and a black Dodge Charger in the Bullitt remains one of - if not the - greatest car chases ever seen on film. Tyre smoke, massive jumps, wayward hubcaps - the scene had it all.

So, a limited-edition Mustang celebrating that 1968 Fastback - the car piloted by Lt. Frank Bullitt, portrayed by Steve McQueen - based on the current car would be awesome, no? One has indeed been rumoured for some time, with a design sketch’s appearance in the background of a Ford promo fueling speculation. Now, we’ve had another strong hint that the car is actually happening.

This Might Actually Be The 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt

A member of the Mustang6G forum posted up this image, which purports to show a Bullitt-edition Mustang being filmed for an advert in Chicago.

It certainly looks like the real deal: even with the subject blurry and under artificial light, we can be pretty sure the paintwork is intended to echo the original’s ‘Highland Green’ hue. The black and chrome wheels look right, too.

Should this all be going ahead, a Detroit Auto Show debut seems likely. For now, we’ll have to just keep ourselves going by re-watching that amazing car chase…

I was about to say something about how it being only a Mustang doesn’t make sense, but then I remembered that it is a special edition. But then again, nobody knows too much on it, yet.

Is that a bad thing? Mustang’s are great value for what they can do

Not a fan of green cars, but the bullitt mustang looks awesome in that shade. If it gets released as a special edition, i wonder what the price will be?

Shouldn’t be too bad consdering it’s a Mustang. I’m assuming the money will be made in dealer markups

That colour is so similar to British Racing Green that it’s not even funny 😂

Um…. yeah…Except for the fact that BRG is a lighter, solid color, and Highland Green is a Metallic, Darker color, lol

Too bad we won’t see a new black two door charger any time soon probably never will.

The current Challenger is basically the current Charger with less doors and different styling, and is also close to the ‘68-‘70 Charger in size

There are a bunch of guys who are using the current challenger as a base and morphing the body og the charger on it

Olivier (CT's grammar commie)

It’s not really new: there was already a Bullitt special edition of the Mustang back in 2008

And…..there was one before that, in 2001. Article doesn’t say anything about this being the first time there has been a Bullitt edition mustang…And I’m sure this one won’t be the last, either
