Austrian mentalist Felix Baumgartner broke the sound barrier during his fall from space
Felix Baumgartner jumped into the record books earlier today achieving the fastest ever freefall speed at 706 miles per hour (1137kph) during his 4 minutes and 19 seconds of descent. He also broke the record for the highest ever skydive by jumping out of a balloon 128,000ft (24 miles) above New Mexico. Congrats, buddy!
Earlier this week, we were streaming the event live (a CT first as it happens) but adverse weather conditions (a bit of wind to you and me) meant that his attempt was cancelled.
