This Is The Most Positive Reaction To Catastrophic Wheel Failure You'll Ever See
After suffering wheel failure during a track day, this Honda S2000 driver reacted enthusiastically to seeing the remains of the rim rolling off in the distance at speed
In the comments section of this YouTube video, the driver mentioned that the manufacturer of the offending wheels - Forgestar - has since been in touch to offer a full refund and buy him a replacement balljoint. The company has also said it’ll analyse the surviving wheels.
The moral of this story? If you’re doing regular track days, it’s worth keeping a close eye on your rims…

1 word- Ebay !
WTF at first i thought it was a girl :D:D
Last I checked forgestar made good stuff. Surprised to see that, but just driving over the rumble strip puts your wheels through multiples of the stresses they see on the street.
If he had the wheels powedercoated, Forgestar doesn’t have to give him anything. A lot of powedercoating powders cure at a temperature that’s in Aluminum’s heat treating temperature range. Those 30 minutes in a furnace that’s too hot (or has a hot spot) will start aging and crystal growth, and weaken the aluminum. It’s a great way to undo some of the nice forging you paid for, and will mess with cast wheels as well.
Make sure to talk with your powder coating guy about what temperature powder he’s using if you want to have your wheels done, They make lower temperature powder specifically for aluminum. If the don’t know what you’re talking about, take your business elsewhere
Ebay rims be like.
