N24 Racer Hits The Pit Wall After Being Blinded By His Own Bonnet
For any racing driver, having the bonnet pop open and blocking the windscreen is never a good thing. Usually, there remains some sort of gap at for the driver to see out of well enough to find their way uneventfully back to the pits but in this case, that didn’t happen.
His vision almost entirely obscured by the bonnet of his M4 late on in the Nurburgring 24 Hours, Rudi Adams slowly and comically tried to navigate his way to the pit lane, only to just miss the entrance.
Despite causing significant damage to the car in that colossal impact, incredibly the team was able to perform repairs and get it out on track again - once they’d stopped laughing, of course.
Endurance racing - especially at the Nordschleife - really does have it all!

what race is this from? Link pls
That car started, it got to that stage hood latches broke, and then they used enough duct tape on it to patch up the Titanic and make it water tight again and it finished!
Best part is when he hit the pit wall, he got stuck lmao
Is everyone forgetting Marko Martin. Who managed to win a rally with bonnet completely obscuring the front windsheild. Legandary status this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70GwcsbHsO8
Guys I thought that this was my dads racing team
Why not try to hit the brakes very hard to get it back down?
Because it’d just instantly lift back up. That’s a carbon fiber hood so it’s incredibly light, even at low speeds the air that goes under it can lift it up if the latches are broken.
Well, at least crash closed the bonnet.
They used so much tape that they turned their car into an amateur version of BMW art car. 😂
Folks in america be thinking: “what’s a bonnet??”
