Need For Speed's PC Release Has Been Put Back To Spring 2016
Need For Speed’s November release date is getting ever closer, and fans of the series have been boarding the hype train for a while now. Unfortunately for PC gamers, though, the game has been delayed until Spring 2016. If it’s any consolation, it’s because PCs are capable of so much more than consoles that Ghost Studios wants to make things better before releasing the game.
…an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016.
This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one.
The news comes shortly after EA announced it would be undertaking a closed beta on PS4 and Xbox One to test the stability of its servers. As NFS requires you to be constantly connected via the Internet, if servers fail then nobody can play the game, even in single player mode. Kinda frustrating, right? You only have to look at the debacle surrounding the relase of SimCity to see what happens if EA’s servers can’t handle having everyone connected at once.
Are you a PC gamer? If so, what do you think about this delay? Is it worth it for a better framerate, or do you just wish they’d made it that way to begin with? Let us know in the comments.
