For years, it’s seemed like the Cayman has been purposefully held back to prevent it raining all over the parade of its big brother, the 911. It’s smaller, lighter and has its engine in the correct place, so it’s always arguably been the better sports car platform. It’s a shame, then, that it’s never been given the power it deserves.

All that is set to change, however, as various leaks, teasers and reports are pointing toward a much more powerful Cayman - the GT4 - and what is almost certainly this new go-faster Cayman has just been spotted by a World Car Fans reader, lurking in the back of this Porsche Museum video. Keep your eyes peeled at the 10-13 second mark.

The rumours surrounding the GT4 are suggesting a lower weight figure than the regular Cayman, and a lot more power: anything up to 400bhp. Given that the most powerful current Cayman - the GTS - kicks out 335bhp, that’s a colossal increase. The fitting of the 3.8-litre flat-six from the 911 Carrera S is being cited as a likely method for the extra poke.

Of course, we don’t know with absolute certainty if that’s the GT4 at 10 seconds, but in any case, the video itself is pretty cool and worth a watch.
