The New Lincoln Navigator Is A Massive Towing Monster
If you like your four-wheeled slice of ‘Murica on the extra-large side, take a look at the new Lincoln Navigator.
It’s the company’s latest ‘full-size’ SUV, and is so massive that small animals actually change course as they pass its gravitational pull. We kid, because a new aluminium-alloy body has actually chopped over 80kg out of the shell, but Lincoln does claim that the new Navigator has more luggage space than an ocean liner. Or more than its rivals, at least.
The standard engine will be a twin-turbo V6 with around 450bhp, and you’ll find it hooked up to a 10-speed automatic gearbox, for all the ratios. Towing capacity will be huge; higher even than the previous car’s 4.08 tonnes (9000lbs), according to the firm.
Elsewhere you’ll find experience-enhancing gimmicks like illumination for the front ‘star’ grille, which lights up as it detects the keyholder’s approach, followed by LED lighting in the lower front body and tail light clusters. Because, y’know, you want your car to make you feel like an Instagram starlet every time you go near it.
Wi-Fi is standard, you can get wireless phone charging, six USB ports, four 12v power sockets and a US-standard 110v domestic plug. It must have one hell of a battery, too. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included in the media interface.
As for seating, the front two chairs are heated, cooled and massaged, with a claimed 30 channels of adjustment. Most owners will likely spend a month just trying to get the position right. Ten-inch Entertainment screens are options for the backs of the front seat headrests, and the middle-row passengers watching them can select what they want to watch either via an Android device, or the parent in the front passenger seat can choose the programme through Sync AppLink. As for rear-row passengers, they still get electric seat-back recline functions. Many comfort. Wow.

Seems like a tractor for rich people
Which supercar firm started off building tractors?
Not super fan of the front grill but overall looks like a really nice cruiser :D
Cadillac fans trying to accept this is better than the Escalade
Just waiting for the price to come out, lol
Cadillac: The ATS-V and CTS-V are recognized by critics to be some the best drivers cars in the world.
Buyers: k
Cadillac: We sorta changed something on the Escalade. Like some trim or something idk.
Buyers: OMG I’LL BUY 10.
Lincoln: Our cars are really good now. Budget Bentleys yo.
Buyers: Wait woah Lincoln still exists?
The Escalade has a V8. You shouldn’t compare a V6 even if its turbocharged to a V8.
Prepare for downvotes
That’s about what it’s worth anyway….
It’s worth more than that, nearly $10 is more realistic.
Standart engive will be Twin Turbo V6 - well thats one hell of a standart
The thing weighs 3 tons. That’s a Ford Transit times one and a half. Of course you need a fair bit of power to pull it around. They didn’t use the HMS Hood with a three cylinder EcoBoost either, did they?
Automobile Industry in a nutshell
Ford and GM developed it, why not use it since it’s awesome
What’s the torque figure?
According to Car and Driver, it’s making 500 lb-ft. Source
