The New Matthew McConaughey Lincoln Advert Actually Makes Some Sort Of Vague Sense
A couple of years ago, a series of Lincoln adverts hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons, due to some weirdly esoteric performances from Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey.
Each featured a brooding, pseudo-philosophical monologue with bizarre lines like “sometimes you gotta go back, to actually move forward,” thrown around with abandon, leading to a flood of parodies washing over the Internet.
Lincoln did experience a boost in sales following the campaign however, which is probably why the Ford subsidiary has brought McConaughey back into the fold for a new advert.
This time though, it actually makes some sort of sense. No esoteric ramblings, no weird finger movements, just a fairly obvious message. And some moodiness, obviously.
This is only the first one though, so there’s still time for some more parody-friendly efforts…

He is walking on water… Is he Jesus?
No, he is Big Mac
At 1:20, he crosses his legs. Is that because there is not enough space to put your feet down in the back? Back to the drawing board pls, Lincoln.
And in the second video he says “I know there are those that say you can’t go back…”
Well you can, God gave us the reverse gear.
rip in pepperonis to Peel P50 owners.
Call me weird, but I have a mancrush on McConaughey.
It may be weirder that I like all the Lincoln adverts.
