The New Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet Is 621bhp Of Loveliness
You’re looking at the finest convertible car Mercedes can make. The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet is the second ultra-luxurious Benz-that-isn’t in a line that’s due to keep expanding.
Karl Benz might be turning in his grave at seeing his name dropped from the company’s finest wares, but buyers of this latest soft-top won’t care a bit. Based on the S-Class Cabriolet, the new Maybach range-topper wears a subtly modified front bumper and Maybach forged dual-finish alloys. On the wings is a small Maybach logo, and at night the same emblem is projected down onto the kerb.
At the front is a 6.0-litre V12 shared with the Mercedes-AMG S65. Putting all of 621bhp and 738lb ft down through the rear tyres, the dignified exterior is clearly hiding hilarious potential for oversteer. The 0-62mph sprint is nailed in 4.1 seconds with top speed limited to 155mph. For something the weight of the average Egyptian pyramid, it shifts.
Obviously it’s a leather-fest inside, with a ‘waterfall-like’ seat upholstery look and ‘Budapest piping’. There are unique trim elements that are commissioned individually according to the paint and leather colours each buyer specifies.
Only 300 Maybach S 650 Cabriolet will be built and each will be numbered at the base of the centre console. There’s even a matching luggage set, and don’t forget the Swarovski headlamps, darling.
For when it’s not being used it comes with a car cover made in the same colour as the multi-layer acoustic soft-top, with classy diamond quilting and Maybach branding. Extra niceness comes from a special leather Maybach keyring and a certificate hand-signed by Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG.
There’s no word on prices yet, but let’s be honest: if you have to ask…
We’ll take two, Mercedes. Please?

To be honest, I don’t like it
Its basically an S65 with some extra learher, badges, slightly different design features and doubled pricetag
It even has the old key from 2006 C-class (although with a badge)
Much rather get the Vanquish S instead (with some money left for options)
Pompous, ridiculous and I bet outrageously expensive, but I love it. Maybe I should start questioning my taste in cars.
Loving the Mercedes advertising campaign 😉
Nice to see Mercedes using hubcaps off a 90’s Volvo
Oh look a new C-Class! No, wait! Maybach, defintely Maybach…
Good news, because this car looks a-may-zing for a May-bach.
Nice S65 Convertible.
And how is it different from an S65 AMG Cabrio? I mean except for the extra Maybach branding, of course…
