New Model S P100D Software Optimisation Will Enable A 2.4-Second 0-60mph Time

Elon Musk has revealed that software optimisation for the Model S P100D next month will enable it to hit 60mph in a scarcely believable 2.4 seconds!
New Model S P100D Software Optimisation Will Enable A 2.4-Second 0-60mph Time

Next to the Model S P100D’s new 2.4-second 0-60mph time, it’ll also demolish the quarter-mile run in only 10.6 seconds.

For context, the new update makes the Model S as fast to 60mph as a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and 0.1 seconds faster than a Koenigsegg One:1. That’s what you call progress, I guess…

yeah sure… quadruple the weight (without the driver) and consider that the atom hasn’t got any body, roof, infotainment system, or even rear seats or a trunk (the tesla has 2!)…. that’s an astonishing result… even more if you keep in mind that the atom is rwd AND it has a clutch pedal for starting from a standstill, so it’s nearly impossible to have a consistent optimal launch, whereas the tesla has some gigabytes of code to help it achieve the same launch every time (battery permitting)…

Wanna know what’s shocking? The reaction of GTR fanboys and countless attemps to say that the GTR is the fastest car in the world.

Don’t be so shure. Tesla uses rolling start from about 5 - 96 km/h to measure their time. I dont know about the GTR but i will think standstill 0 - 100 km/h.

Is it a standing 0-60 or a rolling 0-60? That’s kind of important.

I think a rolling 0-60 is quite difficult to pull off…
