New Nissan Leaf Revealed To Be Less Ugly Than Current Model In Leaked Images
The current Nissan Leaf isn’t exactly what you’d call a looker. It seems to have been styled to shout I AM AN ELECTRIC CAR at whoever claps eyes on one, with its jelly-mould shape and ungainly proportions.
Even Nissan’s own executive design director Mamoru Aoki admitted the styling is less than ideal. “The current Leaf is aiming too much at an EV-like appearance,” he told Automotive a few years ago, adding, “Tesla doesn’t look EV at all. The Tesla S just looks nice, very sporty, sleek, but very authentic.”
The new Nissan Leaf… doesn’t look like a Tesla. Not at all, if these new leaked images are anything to go by. But, its more conventional look - while not exactly exciting - is a lot easier on the eye than the current model.
The family resemblance to cars like the fifth-generation Micra is clear, what with the ‘V Motion’ grille slapped across the Leaf’s face. We’re not so sure about that fat C pillar though - it’s not the best look, and won’t do wonders for visibility.
The car is expected to be revealed in full early next month, and will have significant range increase over its predecessor.

Why on earth does it have a grille?
