New Twin-Turbo 600bhp V8 And A Roof Chop Slated For The Lexus LC
The drop-dead gorgeous Lexus LC will spawn a convertible and a hotter version, according to reports.
As Lexus’ flagship coupe, and the car that has massively ramped up general interest in the brand, the LC is about to become the cash cow that the Japanese brand can milk in markets across the globe.
The way the car looks, it’s tough to argue against the commercial case for a drop-top. That’s true especially in America, where you can easily envisage the car in the pictures, officially just the LF-C2 concept from late 2014, rolling its creamy-smooth way along multiple famous boulevards and beach fronts. Auto Express says that the open-air project is guaranteed for production.
The convertible would get the same engines as the hard-top, so expect V8-engined LC500 and V6 hybrid LC500h versions.
Also in the pipeline is a hot F-badged model. Potentially with power from a development of the 5.0-litre V8 already seen in the LC500, Lexus could also introduce a new twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 with as much as 600bhp.
It would get the kind of styling upgrades you’d expect, like bonnet vents, a large spoiler and flared wheel arches. Although at this stage we can only imagine it, a more muscular LC looks amazing in our heads.

No offence, just for your information:
R.I.P translates to “rest in peace”. So R.I.P in peace means “Rest in peace in peace”.
The 5.0 litre will still be available, but now you will have a 4.0 litre with more power aswell. The more powertrain options the better imo
4.0 V8 twin turbo?
Welcome to the boost club
Hardly an exclusive club nowadays
I’m confident that the sound won’t suffer that much, that’s my only concern.
Will that 4.0 V8 be the same as in the Century?
I don’t know why but I just thought to a Buick Century
I don’t care if it has a gaping turbo inside IT’S BEAUTIFUL
At least you still have the option for the naturally aspirated V8, it would be disappointing if they discontinued it
I am ready to see the Black Panther movie with this car being featured in it
I hope you realize that this concept is the RC coupe not the LC500
That isn’t the point.
The LC500 is not a sports car, but it drives really well considering the weight of the thing. Now adding probably 400 lbs and ruining the structural rigidity is not going to do it any favors.
The LC500 looks so damn good tho. Even the back of it has supra vibes. All it wanted was power
As long as we keep the N/A V8 as an option I’m OK with it. But we all know which engine we REALLY want to see in there…
