Nissan Gets an Extrem Brazilian

So, Brazil is about to be a big deal. Why? Three reasons. 2014 FIFA World Cup, 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, and thirdly - yeah it's to do with cars. It seems our friends in South America have seen the light, decided to jack in the ancient VW Beetles that have basically run the country for fifty years, and want a slice of the new ride action, European style. Basically, Brazil is a car-buying goldmine waiting to be plundered.

Cue loads of car makers tripping over themselves to build cool, fresh, funky new cars for Brazi's up-and-coming buying elite. The good news is that since we're basically about to see a whole load of sweet new rides designed specifically for a modern youth, we should get a look in on our shores too. Nissan is hot out of the blocks with this: the Extrem concept, so tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Nissan has a previous (criminal) record with crossover/coupe/off-roader/supermini wotsits - Juke, anyone? The Extrem is basically a two-door, coupe sport version of the Juke. Although Nissan's official line is 'it's just a concept', we don't buy that, and you shouldn't either. It said that about the crazy-looking Qazana at first, and that turned into the Juke eventually.

So, the Extrem would get a line-up of two-or four-wheel drive, and the sportiest Juke engines, namely the 1.6-litre turbocharged motors with a VW Polo GTi-busting 190bhp. Not that we give a stuff about that. We want an Extrem-R, like the Juke-R. And since the Extrem is meant to be sporty, we'd better whack the spec up to about 600bhp just to keep the world order correct.

Oh, just one more thing before we hand the verdict over to you guys and girls. That front end, with its squared-off grille, side intakes, and big central bade. Hmm. Big fans of the Jaguar F-type, are we Nissan?
