If you know a thing or two about motorsport history, you might recognise this livery, which will be worn by the number 21 car of Nismo’s brilliantly bonkers FWD Le Mans effort at Le Mans in a few weeks. Yep, it’s rocking the same colours as the twin-turbo V8, 1100bhp Nissan R90CK, which grabbed pole position at Le Mans 25 years ago with Mark Blundell at the wheel.

The number 21 Nissan GT-R LM Nismo will be piloted by Tsugio Matsuda and GT Academy winners Lucas Ordonez and Mark Shulzhitskiy. With this highly unconventional LMP1 project at such an early stage, we’re not expecting to see any of the cars grab pole this time around. However, we can’t wait to see how the machine gets on, and will be trackside with the team at Le Mans to witness it in action.
