The world of supercar tuning firms can churn out some particularly ostentatious creations, but this is a nicely subtle effort, isn’t it? Well, about as subtle as a McLaren 720S on 21-inch rear/20-inch front wheels can be.

Novitec's McLaren 720S Has 794bhp And Added Meanness

It’s the work of Novitec, and we rather like the look of it. Along with the aforementioned rims - the German firm’s forged MC1 design - 720S owners looking for more visual aggression can also add various carbonfibre bits.

On the menu, you’ll find canards, side skirts, headlight surrounds, a rear spoiler, rear diffuser and front splitter, all made from carbonfibre. Our favourite detail, though, has to be the redesigned carbonfibre rear deck.

As proven by a seemingly endless stream of YouTube drag races, the 720S isn’t exactly wanting for straight-line pace. Regardless, Novitec will make it faster, should you wish. There is a trio of tuning packages, the most potent bumping the power to 794bhp and the torque to 648lb ft, up from 710bhp and 568lb ft. Go for this, and 0-62mph will be possible in just 2.7 seconds and 0-124mph in a stomach-scrambling 7.5 seconds. With enough space, it’ll keep going until 215mph.

The extra poke comes via an ECU fiddle and the fitting of a new stainless steel exhaust. The new pipework sounds pretty sweet too if you listen past the needlessly bombastic music in the promo video above.

Isn’t around 790bhp what most 720S’s were found to be running? So in this case Novitecs ‘upgrades’ haven’t actually done that much? I love both companies it’s just an interesting thought

  1. Take a 790bhp but officially only 720bhp car
  2. Claim you tuned it up to 790bhp
    3.???
  3. Profit

This exists because the 720s is so lacking in meanness

They should and mod the New Ranger Raptor by giving it more power and extra off roadery capabilities
