Want to own a slice of epic Top Gear history? Now you can because the very Sierra Sapphire Cosworth driven by Clarkson is going under the hammer!

Remember the brilliant episode where Clarkson, Hammond and May took three old super saloons - a Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, BMW E36 M3 and Mercedes 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth - to their limits and beyond?

The E36 M3 was the fastest car on the Autobahn (obviously, because they’re so well made…NOT), while the Sierra and 190E lagged behind by a considerable margin. But no matter, because the cool thing here is that the aforementioned Sierra - as driven by Clarkson - is now up for sale with Classic Car Auctions with an estimate of between £13,000 and £16,000. (You might remember that CCS was also the auction house that sold Hammond’s M3 a year ago).

Currently, the car has 82,000 miles on the clock, extensive service history records and a newish MoT with no advisories until March 2017.

But you won’t really be buying this car for the car. You’ll be buying it to brag to your friends about the fact that its former owner is none other than Jeremy Clarkson, and if the Cossie sells for the lower half of its reserve, then that’s a lot of bragging for not too much money.

Anyone tempted?
