An Old Vauxhall Viva Is A Whole Lot More Appealing With A Mazda V6 Under The Bonnet
The Smoking Tire visited the home of a petrolhead couple in New Zealand to investigate this old Vauxhall Viva, which has been given a new lease of life courtesy of a 2.5-litre Mazda V6
What impresses us most about this car is the custom work that’s gone into it. Owner Alex built his own ECU for the Viva, and fabricated a new - and rather pretty - inlet manifold more suited for the longitudinal engine mounting (Mazda’s ‘K’ V6 was used for front-wheel drive, transverse applications), and created his own headers. The result is a car far more appealing than any standard Viva could ever hope to be.
