The Polaris Slingshot Is Like The Love Child Of A KTM X-Bow And A Morgan 3-Wheeler

Do you like the idea of the Morgan 3-Wheeler, but want something a little more modern? Step right this way, as US firm Polaris has you covered, with its angular ‘Slingshot’ tricycle. It’s powered by a GM-sourced 2.4-litre Ecotec engine pushing out 171bhp and 166lb ft of torque, which should make the Slingshot reasonably swift given the 790kg kerb weight.

There’s quite clearly no roof, but that’s OK, as the seats are waterproof, and there are three-point harnesses plus a pair of roll hoops in case your driving strays into over-exuberant territory.

Prices start at $19,999 (£11,800), rising to $23,999 (£14,150) for the higher spec ‘SL’ version. It’s due to go on sale in the US this September, with no mention of international sales just yet.
