The Polestar 1 EV Costs More Than A Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe
The Polestar 1 electric coupe will be priced from £135,500 in the UK, but as we already know, it’s left-hand drive only. That’s a bit more expensive than predicted.
Prices have been announced at the Beijing Motor Show, including a starting point of €155,000 in mainland Europe. The price point puts it up against the likes of the £125,600 Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupé and the V12-powered BMW M760Li xDrive, which will set you back £138,335 plus options.
Polestar would rather lease it to customers, though, through an all-in monthly payment that covers insurance, road tax where charged, maintenance and so on. It’s not going to be cheap, but details haven’t been released yet.
The two-door Polestar 1 musters a combined 592bhp from a 338bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine coupled to the front wheels, an integrated starter motor/generator that adds 39bhp and two electric motors at the rear that bundle another 215bhp into the equation. It can sprint to 60mph in less than four seconds.

Dunno what part for you is beautiful. Its simple, refined, nothing extraordinary but it isnt beautiful. Its nicely made but really predictable without jaw dropping wow. It looks like you would imagine just it is right but nothing more. And not worth that kind of money
So that is your opinion. I think it is outstanding because of those simple lines (which I love and miss about many new cars)
It does not have a chance against the competition. No one will ever give that much money for a volvo. Dont get me wrong, I love Volvo and the design, but no one will spend a fortune on this…
People are already dropping almost as much on XC90 excellence’s
if someone honestly were to buy an S63 or S65 over this then
How is an S63 constitutive of badge snobbery ?? It’s literally one of the best choices in terms of AMG cars, but somehow out of all other much more pretentious Merc models this is the snobby one ?
I love the Volvo, but I can totally understand why one would take the S-Class instead. The S-Class is only second to Rolls-Royce in terms of luxury, build quality and reputation. Yes, there are quite a few badge snobs who only buy Mercedes because it says Mercedes on it, but as far as the S-Class is concerned, the good reputation of the badge is justified.
they think that V8/V12 is the best
Can’t argue with that tbh
New technology is expensive, that’s hardly a surprise. At a price of 150000€, it’s on the same level as the highest trim levels of the Tesla Model X and Model S. It’s less practical and (probably) has fewer unnecessary gimmicks, but it arguably looks much better and has much better build quality. But it’s also considerably slower, which is kind of a bummer.
Aaaaaand there goes my potential buy
yeah dedicated Volvo fanboy coming in and it’s a “nah are they fooking ‘ahvin a laugh mate?” from me. Seems like a great car but not anywhere worth it for the price.
Not a fan of the looks and for the price it does seem very expensive.
Why buy this instead of a s63 or amg gts ?
