Poll: Is BMW Wrong To Think That We Don't Want An M3 Touring?

This week's M3 Touring rendering sparked a renewed lust for the car BMW has never dared make...I think BMW is wrong for this decision

When this stunning M3 Touring rendering dropped this week, it got me thinking: why has BMW never dared to make the car that, I think, buyers would love?

I simply put it down to a lack of demand, so I spoke to BMW who confirmed my suspicions.

But I'm not convinced that this is still the case today; it sure works for Audi and Mercedes and I for one would always pick an M3 Touring over the M3 saloon, not only for the sake of practicality, but because I think wagons look better than their saloon counterparts. Looking at some of your comments to the original article (link above), I'm happy to see I'm not alone:

Then there's this: people across the globe have resorted to making their own versions of M3 Tourings, which proves that people want it.

The E36 M3 above is a fine example of such a conversion and isn't the first, nor will it be the last.

While I agree that an M3 Touring won't see BMW's profits surge, I find the manufacturer's 'no Touring' policy antiquated and well overdue a serious rethink. Especially when it has given us cars as questionable as the 5-series GT, not to mention the new 3-series GT.

With all this in mind, then, I put the question to you guys: should BMW finally swallow a brave pill and offer an M3 Touring in its expansive 3-series line-up? I'll present the findings to BMW once we've all had our say.
