The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package Doesn't Have Time For Massive Wings
Although the 991.2 911 GT3‘s rear wing isn’t quite as substantial as the one found on the RS, it’s still a rather overt chunk of carbonfibre. Happily, if you find it a bit much, you can now have it taken off your GT3 as part of the new ‘Touring Package’.
Referencing a pack originally available on the 1973 911 Carrera RS, it’s a no-cost option for the manual gearbox GT3 only that replaces the fixed wing with a lower, retractable version (no word on how much downforce the change costs you). And that’s it, really. The rest of the bodywork is unchanged, as is the glorious, 493bhp 4.0-litre flat-six.
There are a few changes on the inside to make the car a little more luxurious though, mostly centred around ditching the lashings ofbecause racecar Alcantara in favour of leather. As such, the GT3’s super-focused ‘Clubsport’ pack can’t be combined with the Touring, nor can any Alcantara-based option. Other than that though, Porsche says: “Virtually all 911 GT3 options are also available in combination with the Touring Package.”
So, what will it be for you? A regular GT3, or the more subtle Touring Package?

i mean IT’S MANUAL
BlackPanthaa not happy.
Just so you all know, I’d happily sell all of you to the Devil in order to afford this car. Just kidding - if I did that who would we write for? Seriously, though, this is my perfect 911.
“If I did that would we write for?” I guess the devil and his buddies, and maybe demonized us. Couldn’t agree more on the Porsche though.
I honestly don’t get why people are getting that excited on it. They basically just removed the spoiler and made it a costless option. It’s not a limited edition 911, it’s just an OPTION.
^^^^^^
It’ll be a rare choice though for sure.
Okay, that’s true, but Porsche is making a different GT3 for people who want a different GT3. If nobody had asked for this, Porsche wouldn’t have made it. They listen to their customers. That’s why we have things like the GT4 and manual GT3 now. It’s an option Porsche hasn’t had since the 70s and it’s a good option.
Why the heck would you want a Touring Package on a 911 GT3?!? If you want to do actual touring, get a Carrera GTS, not a track-focused semi-racecar. This is just one niche too far.
I like it because it has most of the performance of the regular GT3, but doesn’t attract the annoying non-car-guys who ask stupid questions like “how many mpg do you get?”
I love Porsche.
Strong independent porsche who don’t need no wing
[911R flippers going suicidal in the distance]
The customers who flipped 911Rs have made more than enough money to purchase several GT3s with very nice options. While Porsche pays attention to who’s flipping cars, the ones who get away with it have only made more money. Not sure why that’s a bad thing, though a bit unsavory.

The way you worded that sounds like you’re saying the 9/11 attacks were “cool”. Might want to reword that…
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think this 911 looks better without the wing. So much sleeker!
