I’m guessing none of you have looked at Porsche’s Macan SUV and thought: “Hey, you know what? That’d look great with a Porsche Motorsport Livery.” Regardless, Porsche Asia Pacific has whipped up exactly that, embellishing a Macan Turbo with a paint job inspired by the white, black, red and grey livery found on the 911 RSR and the retiring 919 Hybrid.

The reason for the curious move? Apparently it’s to “point out the sporting roots of the car,” although we’re really not sure how we feel about the results. Particularly as it looks rather odd without a bunch of sponsorship decals splashed across it.

What we think of it is fairly irrelevant though, as this isn’t something available to customers: it’s merely a quirky one off for Porsche Asia Pacific’s press fleet.

It’s finished off with a Performance Package from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, adding 39bhp and 36lb ft of torque to the 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6. This brings the total to a healthy 434bhp and 442lb ft.

What do you think of this thing?
