The Predator-Faced Lexus RC-F Will Cost You More Than A BMW M4

Official UK pricing for the Lexus RC-F super coupe has been announced, and straight away, there’s something rather noticable: the car will be more expensive than its chief rival, the BMW M4. Prices for this strikingly-styled brute kick off at £59,995, a decent chunk more than the £56,635 starting price for the M4.

However, it’s not quite that simple, as the cheapest M4 comes with a manual gearbox, whereas the RC-F is only available with a ‘Sports Direct Shift’ automatic. Should you be after an auto ‘box anyway, the gap isn’t as big, with the equivalent Bavarian coupe with a dual-clutch transmission setting you back £59,135.

It’s also more powerful than the BMW, and has a couple of extra cylinders, with a 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 kicking out in excess of 450bhp, versus a 425bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six in the M4.

Should you be a fan of composite materials, the RC-F Carbon is available, which comes with a carbonfibre roof, bonnet and rear spoiler, plus a torque-vectoring differential and a distinct set of 19-inch alloy wheels to set it apart from the standard model. All this is yours for £67,995.
