Prepare For Tears: Someone In China Has Wrecked A Porsche 918

Here’s a tip: if you own a very rare supercar that’s worth over two million dollars, don’t throw the keys to your friend to let them have a cheeky drive. Especially if said chum can’t tell the accelerator pedal from the brake. Had the owner of this sorry-looking Porsche 918 exercised such caution, they wouldn’t be looking at what will almost certainly be a massive repair bill.

Prepare For Tears: Someone In China Has Wrecked A Porsche 918

According to Car News China, this 918 (which in China costs $2.2 million new) suffered this unfortunate fate on the streets of Shanghai in the early hours of this morning. The driver - a female friend of the owner - confused the accelerator for the brake. In a car with 875bhp, this was never going to end well. The car ended up mounting a kerb and smashing into a tree. Both occupants were apparently uninjured.
