Prepare Yourselves: A Load Of Ferrari Hybrids Are Coming

As expected, the LaFerrari hypercar was not a hybrid one-off for Maranello. Not by a long shot.

According to Autocar, CEO Sergio Marchionne spoke of Ferrari’s hybrid future at a recent conference call with investors. The company plans to supplement internal combustion engines with electric power, with the obvious aim of increasing performance while lowering emissions. Does that mean the incredible Ferrari V12 will be around for a little longer? We can but hope.

It’s anticipated that whatever replaces the F12 will be the first ‘mainstream’ Ferrari to receive a little dose of electric power, and if the rumours are true, it’ll be built using an all-new hybrid architecture that’ll underpin most - if not all - future models at Maranello.

I don’t see the hate around hybrids. Sure, there’s the Prius, but a Ferrari hybrid would be very different. I’ve heard that the F12 replacement will have an electric motor and the amazing N/A V12. Does that powertrain sound familar?I think a hybrid GTC4Lusso T would also be a good idea.
