Pug Packs RCZ With Serious BHP Heat

The RCZ’s one of the hottest affordable cars around. Soon, it’ll also stick its hands down your pants for a cheeky fumble

Ahh, the Peugeot RCZ. It’s sexy, sleek, low-slung and…slow. Okay, the last one’s not strictly true – the 200 THP’s good for 146mph – but with the banging Renaultsport Megane on the scene, it needed to up its bhp game. Big time.

Enter stage left the RCZ R, which Team CT has seen in the flesh as a concept car at the Paris motor show.

Based on the facelifted RCZ – you know, redesigned bumpers, a ‘more emotional’ design bla, bla, bla – the matte black RCZ R packs 260bhp from its tuned 1.6-litre THP motor, making it the most powerful Pug, ever.

Thankfully, Peugeot also promises ‘special suspension and wheels’ plus a Torsen limited slip differential, which ‘promises dynamic and effective sensations of a very high level.’ To you and me that means that the ‘R’ will be slammed, will sit on massive wheels and will give the driver a raging hard on at every turn.

But don't cancel that Viagra prescription just yet. The RCZ won't go on sale until the end of 2013.

Oh, and because it looks bloody great, here are a couple of pics of the facelifted RCZ, which hits UK shelves at the beginning of the new year. You like?
