Racing Driver Passes Two Cars During Epic High-Speed Save
Yacaman was racing in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, a round of the 2017 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the iconic Watkins Glen track, and was behind the wheel of an Oreca FLM09 in the Prototype Challenge class.
While jostling for position on the run to the quick Turn 3 section, a few cars up ahead got a bit close and it appeared one car was slowing with a problem. Yacaman lost the rear of his car while trying to avoid what was happening in front of him but managed to save it in awesome style.
While casually sliding his car and getting it facing the right way again, he managed to pass two cars (including the one that looked to be in trouble) in the process. He was soon back up to racing speed and his No.26 car, which finished third (and last - as pointed out by styxracer97) in class.

It was at that moment,he knew,he f-ed up…for good!!
Deja vu
The save was great but he doesn’t get points for the pass because those the Cadillac crashed and the Riley checked up because of that
And they are in different classes. Prototype Challenge (open cockpit) vs Prototype (closed cockpit)
The pass was only because of the crash, because it was a PC can which is way slower than L class cars
That was the coolest thing I have seen all day. The rest of my day is now set to be ok.
Kansei dorifto?
…. ???? !!!! …how the **?
Dont let this distract you from the fact the atlanta falcons blew a 28-3 lead
For those wondering how he got away with this recovery:
As the car span sideways, the front splitter rode up onto the kerb, lifting the front tyres off of the ground. The rear tyres, still on the ground, slowed the rear of the car down, making the car rotate back to straight, until the front tyres made contact again and he could continue
Takumi would be proud. gutter technique intensifies
Thanks for the help!
And how do you know?
