Is The Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet An Immense Rip-Off?
Doug DeMuro goes through all the things that are wrong with the surprisingly expensive Evoque Cabriolet. It takes some time...
The Evoque convertible may have a handful of good features, but is it worth the best part of $70,000? Bearing in mind the giant panel gaps, the awful hood-up visibility, the pointless rear seats and the fact this 11,000 mile example already has a leaking roof and windows that sound “like a baby otter trying to give a distress call to its mother” when they’re being rolled up, probably not.
As Doug DeMuro suggests in this in-depth analysis and quirk-finding session, why wouldn’t you just buy a Porsche Boxster?

The reason why it sucks is that convertibles are only fun if they are sportscars or true off roaders. This is just boring, slow, and impractical for an suv of this cost.
only rich, highschool school girls would get such a thing. $70K for a 4-cylinder…
vic beckham gone topless .. nah keep it
Why I hate doug demuro
It costs $70,000 in the USA?
Yes, that is absolutely a rip off. Its still expensive in the UK but when the mean average wage is around £32,000 and the Cabriolet is £45,000 all in (tax, reg etc.) then $70k before tax (about £55,000) is just a joke.
Yeah but to be fair what did you pay for your stang? Taxes suck.
The reason people buy these is because Range Rover is a “fancy” and “cool brand.”
Sometimes it’s the extraordinary that sells. It’s just Range Rover exploring new markets, if it works they will develop the idea even more…like it or not.
