Rapper Rick Ross Wrecks Roller While Escaping Assassination Attempt

American superstar Rick Ross was involved in a drive-by shooting on Monday. Witnesses claim a rifle was fired from another vehicle towards the rapper's. While police retrieved more than a dozen shell casings, Ross and his passengers miraculously escaped unharmed.

The incident happened on Los Olas Boulevard, Miami, at around 5am Monday morning. Ross had been celebrating his 37th birthday with celebrity friends - including P. Diddy and Christina Millian - and was on his way home from the Floridian Restaurant when shots rung out.

Fort Lauderdale police said that the driver took evasive action and lost control, slamming the silver Rolls-Royce into the side of an apartment building. Ross and his girlfriend, Shateria L. Moragne-el, stumbled from the car as their attackers made a hasty getaway.

In the rapper's latest single 'Pirates' he notes that "homicide stay on my mind," before referencing 2Pac. Prophetic?
