Readers' Rides: Justin's Modified Chevy Camaro SS
We've been delighted with the response you guys have had to our new Readers' Rides feature and whenever we post a new ride the comments light up with discussion. Earlier in the week we brought you Remi's slick Honda Civic, so today we're upping the engine power with something completely different.
Justin wanted to purchase a Camaro since he was 16. Now 21, he owns this SS and has transformed it. In his own words are what he's done to his car and why he loves it so much:
This is my 1999 Chevy Camaro SS SLP Edtion. I love my Camaro because she's a blast to drive, especially going fast. She's come a long way from stock, now having a fully built motor and almost everything else replaced with performance parts and visual mods.
It's got a fully forged 347 cubic inch LS1, 799 heads, MS3 cam, 3600 stall, LS6 intake, ported throttle body, 42 lb/hr injectors, billet fuel rails, ceramic coated and wrapped longtube headers, full exhaust, suspension kit, uprated brakes, custom Z06 wheels, and NITTO NT05 tyres. I'm saving up for a 76mm turbo kit right now. I've shed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears building this Chevy, but have loved every minute.
Cruising around town on warm summer nights with my friends makes all the money and time I've spent worthwhile. We go to weekly car shows, park up and open up our hoods. The smiles it gets from fellow car guys is what I love to see and when I start it up, people always ask questions.
I'd really never trade her for anything. It's been my dream to have a Pewter Camaro SS with black accents since I was 16 and now, I couldn't be happier. I hope you like her too!
