Rejoice: The Dodge Hellcat V8 Is Now Available As A Crate Engine
Ladies and gentlemen, let us present the Holy Grail of crate engines. That’s right, Dodge’s 6.2-litre supercharged ‘Hellcat’ HEMI V8 can now be bought in crate form, making its 697bhp (707hp) brawn available for the maddest of project car builds.
It’s called the Hellcrate (obviously), and it’s yours for $19,530. You’re probably going to want the Engine Kit (below) on top of that, which will set you back $2195. It includes a powertrain control module, engine wiring harness, an accelerator pedal, various sensors and a fuel pump control module.
The Hellcrate - which has a muscular 650lb ft torque figure to go along with its 697bhp - has a three year, unlimited-mileage warranty from Mopar to complete a worry-free, shouty V8 package. In terms of transmissions, Dodge recommends the engine is hooked up to a six-speed Tremec Magnum manual gearbox.
So the question is, what would you stick a Hellcrate engine in? Comment below with your ideas…

2 grand, not bad at all
2 grand for the electronics. The actual engine with everything is 20 grand.
Oh my
Id throw it in my frs but I’d spin to 5th gear.
Who needs the type r crate engine when you can have this? It’s even cheaper too!
I would put it in a Civic Type R.
“The motor can be yours for a very reasonable $6,519.87”
“It’s called the Hellcrate (obviously), and it’s yours for $19,530”
What about 2 Type R motors mounted at the crank? It’d be a 4.0L twin turbo V8 with 612 horsepower and 580 (ish) torques
Please god make it happen
Dodge Magnum + Hellcat Engine = HELLCAT HEARSE
sOMEONE PLEASE DO THIS
The Hell Hearse…
My plan with my truck was to stick one of these in the first place…
Kersten, have you kept the receipt of the V6?
