This Riced Out Prius Is Terrifically Repulsive
Most of us don’t like the Toyota Prius. We don’t like how it looks, we don’t like how it drives and we don’t like how completely boring it is.
But here in tuner-typical and massively inappropriate orange is a reminder of that invaluable life lesson: some human beings can always make things worse.
When you’re modifying a car you choose something with a good reputation. You don’t remember seeing a Prius in any of the half-decent Fast & Furious-type films, do you? The Prius has about as much fast-car credibility as a Suzuki Jimny.
Unabashed, the muppets behind the offense-o-Prius transformed the retiree’s favourite hybrid biffabout into a hideous excuse for a street racer with 20-inch rims, Koenigsegg-style rotating doors that, as the video shows, don’t even open properly, and so much audio-visual kit inside that the driver can barely see out of the windscreen.
Some of the display screens, not visible in this screenshot taken from the vid, aren't even mounted at an angle where the driver can read them, making them completely useless. As a design exercise, this is as rancid as it gets.
It was built way back in 2008 but it wasn’t splashed around the web as much as it really should have been. Watch it now with caution, though: some things you just can’t un-see.
