Safety Car Takes Out Two Drivers In Chinese Touring Car Race
Two cars crashed out of the season opener of the China Touring Car Championship when the safety car suddenly joined the track ahead of the field

If you think that already sounds bizarre, get this - it didn’t even happen in a racing situation. According to TouringCarTimes, the cars were on their forming up lap before the race when a course vehicle decided to enter the circuit without warning.
The front row starters and teammates of David Zhu and Juan Carlos Zhu had to take avoiding action, hitting each other and then the barriers, and were unable to start the race. The rest of the field had to heavily check up as well.
It’s amazing how this sort of thing is ever allowed to happen, because it could have been a lot worse.
