Say Hello To The New Maserati Levante SUV

If you’re in the car making game these days, you can’t not build an SUV. Whoever you are. We live in times when Porsche and Bentley have SUVs, while the likes of Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce are likely to in the near future. The latest luxury brand to jump on the bandwagon is Maserati with the Levante, and thanks to a leak ahead of a Geneva reveal via Autoweek.nl, we’re able to get an early look at the car.

Details are limited at this stage, but the series of images does include a website screenshot showing three models: the 350, the 430 and the diesel. The 350 and 430 are both powered by turbocharged 3.0-litre V6s, with 0-62mph times of 6.3 and 5.2 seconds respectively, and top speeds of 151 and 164mph.

The diesel model features a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, which will get the car from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds and allow for a top speed of 143mph.

It’s not currently known if the SUV will get the 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine found in the Quattroporte, but it wouldn’t surprise us if the V8 makes an appearance.

We’ll bring you all the details and images when they arrive, but for now, what do you think of Maserati’s new SUV?

I really hate this new trend.
Jag, bentley, Porsche every supercar manufacturer needs their suv.
In my opinion this is utterly stupid.

Thanks maserati.

But now my confidence in you is destroyed.

They’re a business at the end of the day. Gotta move units so they can build what the real enthusiasts want.

What if Land Rover did the opposite, and surprised the world with a mad supercar?

The exterior design looks Chinese or like a generic SUV you’d find in a videogame that doesn’t have licensed cars

I think everyone should think about it before they start busting every Sportscar manufacturers balls. Times are not as they used to be, you have to move units to stay in business. Manufacturers have to sell to the masses so they can continue to make cars that the enthusiasts want to buy. There’s no reason to bag on manufacturers for keeping up with the times and doing what they need to do as a business.

How about no… It’s not even good looking! When the price is announced, I will produce a list of things you can buy for the same price as this P.O.S.

Let’s just say it’s not Maserati’s best work… But if it makes more money to the company I’m fine with it because I know they’ll have more capital to invest in the higher end cars. :)

I don’t think it’s going to sell that well though which is a problem. Porsche and Jag have the sports SUV covered perfectly it seems. I think the car will be a flop just like the Ghibli, they need to replace the Gran Turismo asap
