Lamborghini is at its best when it’s going a little bit wild, and in the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster we have another limited edition Raging Bull that’ll create a stirring below the belt.

This is the first time Lamborghini has stuck the Superveloce name to a roadster, but the rest of the car is fairly predictable, sharing specs with its roof-bound twin. That means 740bhp and 509lb ft of torque from the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 - there’s even a button that lowers the rear glass to allow more of its raucous racket into the cabin. That should contribute to an all round assault on the senses, with the SV Roadster promising to sprint from 0-62mph in just 2.8sec, before topping out at 217mph. Better ensure your toupe’s firmly secured, then.

The SV roadster has been on a health kick and weighs in at 1575kg, making it 50kg lighter than the LP 700-4 Roadster. Power is routed to the Haldex four-wheel drive system through a seven-speed auto ‘box, which apparently provides an ‘emotional’ shift, whatever that means. Perhaps you’ll shed a tear on every upshift?

Carried over from the SV coupe is the Magnetorheological suspension, a pushrod damping system, and Lamborghini’s ‘Dynamic Steering.’ The SV Roadster nicks the two-piece carbonfibre roof piece from the ‘standard’ Roadster - each section weighs less than 6kg.

First deliveries will commence in early 2016 - the LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster will set you back €357,000 or $530,000. Not cheap, then.
