Michael Schumacher's devoted wife, Corinna, is building a £10m home hospital facility at the £25m family estate on Lake Geneva.

Taking a fraction of the family's £500m fortune to build the facility will allow the F1 great to return home to help with his recovery.

While doctors continue to care for Schumacher in Grenoble (some 150 miles from the family home), a friend of the family told The Sun:

"Miracles happen, of course, and as a wealthy man he has the best care money can buy. "But all the money in the world cannot fix what has happened to him. The family are making arrangements for a future of permanent immobility. "Is there a sense of denial at play among them? I would say yes"

Michael Schumacher has now been in intensive care since December 29. Two days later, he was given brain surgery for the second time to control dangerous intracranial pressure.

Since the end of January, doctors have been trying to wake Schumacher from his induced coma, but this has proven ineffective as of yet. Despite pessimism from former F1 doctor Gary Hartstein, we continue to keep our fingers crossed for a good recovery.
