Seeing An Ultra-Rare Toyota 2000GT Crushed To Death By A Tree Will Give You Inconsolable Feels

If you’re not familiar with the Toyota 2000GT, it’s important you know it’s kind of a big deal. Arriving in 1967, this gorgeous coupe marked a big moment for the Japanese car industry, proving it could build a stylish sports car to compete with the best that Europe’s car makers had to offer. Yamaha made just 351 under contract and on the rare occasions they do change hands, it’s usually for a seven-figure sum, so seeing one destroyed like this is utterly heartbreaking.

NHK reports that the incident occurred in Nanto, Japan, when a rotting tree - measuring 30 metres tall and two metres in diameter at its thickest point - gave way, coming crashing down on the Toyota. The car was actually being driven at the time, and amazingly, the driver came away largely unscathed.
